I wanted to talk a bit more on how this podcast came to be. Mary Jeanne and I needed a conversation regarding a yarn project and as frequently happens, she said I’ll be on the Thruway so let’s talk then.  Carole and I are driving up to the Fingerlakes to pick up some wool.  Wonderful, we can talk business and I can work on Carole, as she has been a reluctant podcast interviewee.  In fact,  let’s do a podcast while you are driving, as I’m nosy and want to know where you are going.  I’m originally from the Fingerlakes region and although the beauty of the Hudson Valley never escapes me, I do miss the scenery of my youth.  What we may not realize is that owning a mill is more than making yarn.  Mary Jeanne is frequently on the road.  As she says in the podcast, she can keep the farm’s cost of shipping fleece down by scheduling group pick ups.  In the process, her customers have become her friends.  These are some of the pictures she shared.
